Overview:
Sanibel Pier offers excellent access to Gulf waters, with structure and current flow that attract a wide variety of species. This site is ideal for anglers without a boat.

Seasonal Highlights:
- Summer and fall are strong for Redfish and Pompano.
- Spring and early summer bring Snook and baitfish runs.
- Sharks become more active in late spring through early fall.
Tactics:
- Fish live or cut bait near pier pilings at dawn or dusk for Snook and Redfish.
- Cast jigs along the surf line for Pompano.
- Use heavy leaders and large bait chunks for targeting sharks.
Effective Baits and Lures:
- Live: Shrimp, Pinfish
- Cut: Mullet, Ladyfish, Threadfins
- Artificial: Jigs (pink/chartreuse), soft plastics, bucktail jigs
Additional Tips:
Early morning or late evening produces the best results, especially during tidal movement. Pompano respond well to brightly colored jigs worked along the bottom.
